Washing Bottles, Cleaning and Linton’s Kitchen Nightmares 2.0 – WWOOF – Day 27 11/10/19

I am doing WWOOF – a month-long programme where I am working on a French farm.  I am writing a daily blog about my experiences.  I will write in English and French.  My French isn’t perfect and there will be mistakes.  And I may use Frenglish.  I welcome all corrections.  I tend to transliterate more than translate, but I’m working to improve this.  Considering this, the French sections of the blog won’t be exact word-for-word translations from the English.  Firstly, the language doesn’t work like that and secondly, I make jokes and references in the English that won’t translate over to the French.

You’ll be glad to know Jack took his revenge.  At 3am and later at 6am, he went berserk underneath my caravan.  I’ve realised that I was being overly-dramatic.  As much as I don’t like it, I need to be strong with him and remind him of who’s boss.

Anyway, after the usual feeding the rabbits and sweeping the barn, I washed more bottles.  Between 10hr30 and 12hr30, I washed 40 more.  Only 264 to go.  At 13hr30, we had lunch.  Elisabeth had to collect me, as I didn’t hear the bell again.  She said I needed new ears and she might be right.  Over lunch, we talked more about when she might come to London with her family.  She said they might come in December, perhaps with Courinne and her family.  I told her to email me when they’re coming.  Hopefully, I can meet them and show them around.

Work recommenced at 4.  We had another bread delivery, so I put that into storage.  Next, do you remember that freezer we loaded into the truck? Matthias and I moved it into the trailer, as tomorrow he would be driving it into his friend’s house.  Afterwards, I had to clean some old milk cannisters.  Work finished at 5, as Matthias and Elisabeth were going out for dinner.  Elisabeth gave me some food for dinner.  Her and Matthias left at half 5 and shortly after I bought some things from the shops.

At 7, I had dinner.  Elisabeth left me leftover sprouts, lentils and cauliflower.  But she also gave me smoked trout enter Linton’s Kitchen Nightmares 2.0.  Although it was already cooked, I wasn’t sure how to heat it up.  In the breakfast room, there’s only a stove top, so I had to fry it – remember there’s no cooking oil either.  As I was frying it and the skin peeled away, I realised that it hadn’t been filleted.  In my attempts of defilleting it, I turned it into this.  Yep, Gordon Ramsey would have a heart attack, but at least it wasn’t frozen!

French

Jack apprit son revenge.  A 3hr et 6hr, il m’a reveille par fait une desordre.  Aussi, j’ai realise que j’etais over-reacting.  Tandis que, je ne l’aime pas, je suiis le patron et avec Jack, je dois etre forte.

Alors, apres le d’habitude un manger des lapins et balaye la barne, j’ai lave plus bouteilles.  Entre 10hr30-12hr30, j’ai lave 40 plus bouteilles.  Seule 264 a faire ! Alors on apprit dejeuner a 13hr30.  Elisabeth m’a dit physiquement.  Encore, je n’ai pas entendu la cloche.  Elle a suggeste que j’ai besoin les oreilles nouvelles, peut-etre elle a raison.

Alors, on parlait plus des ses plans pour visite Londres.  C’est juste une idee mais elle veut venir en Decembre.  Elle vient avec sa famille et Courinne et sa famille.  J’ai suggeste qu’elle devrait e-mail moi et je peux etre leur tour guide pour quand ils visitient.  Alors, la travailleur a recommence a 16hr.  Il y avait une autre deliverie du pain donc je l’ai rearrange.  Souvenez le congelateur que Matthias et moi mets dan la truck ? Alors, on devrait l’apporte dans le traileur donc Matthias pourrait prendre son ami a demain.  Pourquoi on l’a met dans le truck dans la primier place, je n’en suis rien.

Alors apres ca, j’ai nettoye des cannisters du lait et le travailleur a fini a 17hr.  Matthias et Elisabeth est sorti pour diner et Elisabeth m’a donne de la nourriture pour diner.  Apres, ils sont sortient, j’ai faisais des magasins et a 19hr, j’appris mon diner.

Elisabeth m’a donne des leftovers sprouts, lentils et choufleur, mais aussi du truit fumere.  Je ne suis pas certain comment, I would heat it up, mais parce qu’il y a seule un stove top, I fried the fish.  Souvenez il y n’a pas d’huile de cuisiner.  Aussi, tandis que je l’ai cuisine, j’ai realise que la poisson n’est pas filleted.  Il y a encore des bones.  And when i tried to fillet it, I turned it from this into this.  Oops.  MDR.

Mais c’est tout pour jour 27- un jour des laver des bouteilles, nettoyage et Linton’s Kitchen Nightmares 2.0.
